The Central Bank of Iceland
The Central Bank of Iceland is the bank of the Treasury. It administers the issue and sales of Treasury debt in the domestic market, handles foreign borrowing as well as administration of lending by the Treasury and the issue of state guarantees.
The agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank (PDF 36 KB) contain provisions of functions specifying the division of tasks between them.
